THIS TOO SHALL PASS

Our forefathers

lived in caves

without electricity

or running water

susceptible each day

to tribal warfare,

manslaughter

wandering in

the woods, vulnerable

to predation

facing every day

some emergency

situation

🍃☀️

disaster, since the

big bang, has been

an unheeding

occurrence

nature’s reminder

to realign

our priorities

and preference

🍃☀️

from tsunamis

to pandemics to

environmental stress

the threats we

face as a species

are countless

🍃☀️

catastrophes will come

and catastrophes will go

but the human spirit

has alway thrived

the human spirit will

always endure

🍃☀️

today there is disease,

downturn, isolation

compounded by

insecurity, fear

and frustration

🍃☀️

but ensconced in

our homes, we share tips

on health / medication

drawing strength from

one another through

hope and motivation

🍃☀️

with our DNAs

fortified by the power

to reason, to think

we are less fragile than

we sometimes

mistakenly think

🍃☀️

needing surprisingly

little in our lives

to get by

we may fall to

the ground

but can still touch

the sky

🍃☀️

the battle seems long,

difficulties long drawn

but. even the longest,

blackest nights

unfold into a bright

new dawn

🍃☀️

pain is a university

we’ll graduate wiser

from this class

till then let’s be

each other’s strength

and remember
