CHASING ‘ENOUGH’
Hurtling, stumbling
Falling, rumbling
Fighting against fate
Running against time
…I go
Rushed by deadlines
Corporate landmines
Lamenting lost opportunity
Shifting sands of sanity
…I go
Caught in the
productivity trap
Negotiating the
remuneration gap
Ticking to-do lists,
Work-life balance twists
…I go
Drowned in gratification
Wedded to optimization
Trading creativity
for productivity
Exchanging freedom
for captivity
…I go
Flattening the
curve of being
Mired in the
blindness of seeing
In pursuit of efficiency
Traversing the tough,
Reining the rough
Chasing the illusion
called ENOUGH
…I go
Till I reach the edge
and skid to a stop
To find…
There’s no ENOUGH
even at the top
Nothing to show
Nowhere to go
ENOUGH lay buried
all along
under those miles
of spreadsheets
I surrendered my life to
pathetic counterfeits
At what point in time
did life become and feel
Less a human
More a hamster wheel?
